Dr. Eberlin Awarded NIH Grant to Study Alzheimer’s

Livia Eberlin, Ph.D.

Livia Eberlin, Ph.D., associate professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology, has received a National Institutes of Health grant for a total of $890,000 over five years. This project is a collaboration with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Stanford University, Northeastern University, GE Global, and ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine to investigate spatial changes in metabolites and proteins in human brain tissues during the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers aim to use a combination of molecular imaging technologies and statistical analysis to better understand the mechanisms leading to neurodegeneration and reveal targets within pathways that could be protective in Alzheimer’s disease.
