r. Selby Oberton is a Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine-Cardiology at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine; and Medical Director of the Living Donor Program at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.
Dr. Oberton’s professional and clinical interests include advanced heart failure (systolic and diastolic), heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support devices (lvads), cardiomyopathies coronary artery disease and heart attack, general cardiology, heart valve diseases, cardiogenic shock, hypertension, cardiac clearance for pre-operative evaluations, and high cholesterol.
Dr. Oberton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch
at Galveston. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine. He also held Fellowships in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant at the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque and the University of Utah-Salt Lake City, respectively.
Dr. Oberton holds certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation, and Heart Failure Society of America.
