Professional Statement

Omar Tanweer, M.D. is a neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. Dr. Tanweer’s clinical disciplines include open surgical, endovascular and radiosurgical treatment options. His interest in cerebrovascular approaches started while in medical school at the University of Buffalo. He completed his residency and fellowship training at New York University, where he later joined as faculty and led the NYU-LI Cerebrovascular efforts as director. Dr. Tanweer’s practice is now based at Baylor Medicine’s McNair Campus and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center where he serves as Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery.
