Dr. Michael Maier is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in general orthopedics in the Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Piedmont Orthopedic Society, and Notre Dame Orthopedic Society. Dr. Maier has been treating patients and a member of the southwest Houston community for over twenty years. Through patient education, conservative management, and advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Maier provides individualized and comprehensive orthopedic care for his patients. Dr. Maier graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Maier earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School with a top ranking in his medical school graduating class. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Maier enjoys sports and is an avid golf enthusiast. He has added education on golf-specific injuries and performance. He is Titleist Performance Insitute (TPI) 鈥淢edical 3 level鈥 certified. He is active in his community with volunteer work, coaching youth sports, and incredibly involved with his church. He lived in Richmond, Texas for over 20 years with his wife and four children.
