Professional Statement
Dr. Goebel is an infectious diseases physician, Assistant Professor of Medicine at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine, and Associate Clinical Director of the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine-Houston AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC). Her HIV expertise includes patient care and graduate medical education. As a clinician educator, she provides primary and specialty care to patients with HIV at Thomas Street Health Center (TSHC) and Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas. She is passionate about providing empathetic and quality care to underserved and vulnerable patient populations, including people with HIV. In her role with the AETC, Dr. Goebel leads the interprofessional education program, collaborating with interdisciplinary faculty from health professional programs across Houston. As an HIV physician and educator, she is interested in using education to improve the quality of care and achieve key clinical outcomes in HIV care, including rapid initiation of antiretroviral therapy.
