Professional Statement

Dr. Wadhwa joined BCM as a postdoctoral fellow and subsequently as a faculty member. She has a broad academic and research background in pediatric developmental disorders, with a particular focus on congenital heart disease (CHD). Her research explores the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying complex CHD. Her recent work has focused on translational studies that integrate computational, molecular, and clinical data to better understand disease mechanisms in CHD subtypes and their outcomes. Dr. Wadhwa has established and is a Director of the Heart Center Tissue Bank (HCTB), one of the nation's largest and most robust CHD Tissue Banks, a resource supporting numerous research initiatives within the Heart Center. She earned her doctoral degree in Biotechnology from the University of London, UK, and gained postdoctoral training at the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK, and the Department of Pediatrics, ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine.
