Professional Statement
As an internal medicine physician and hospitalist in both private and academic setting, I specialize in caring for and guiding patients and their families from all socioeconomic backgrounds through a time when they feel most vulnerable. I have particular interest in critical care medicine and the transition from lower acuity care settings into and out of the intensive care unit and how that transition affects patient care. Having had great mentors in this space, I also have a desire to improve the learning environment of young physicians at our institution. I hope to use my previous experiences working in these different levels of care, in the research setting, and in working with medical learners to identify problems, study and address issues, and improve outcome and the quality of our care, as well as improve the resident learning experience in dealing with these particularly high acuity populations.
