Professional Statement

Dr. Crew is a clinical health psychologist with the Behavioral Health Program at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), providing comprehensive Behavioral Sleep Medicine services as an integrated psychologist within the Sleep Disorders Center. These services include individual and group-based therapies for a range of sleep disorders such as insomnia, nightmare disorder, circadian rhythm disorders (e.g., delayed sleep phase, shift work), obstructive sleep apnea with suboptimal adherence to device therapy (e.g., CPAP), and other disorders of hypersomnolence (e.g., narcolepsy). In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Crew's research interests include investigating correlates and consequences of insomnia in chronic medical populations, and investigation of barriers and facilitators of adherence to CPAP therapy to inform novel interventions to optimize treatment outcomes.
