Professional Statement
The endometrium, or inner lining of the uterus, is a unique tissue with a highly regenerative potential that is crucial for the reproductive health of women. Our group studies the signaling pathways that underpin endometrial regeneration and are abnormal in women with infertility, endometriosis and endometrial cancer. Using genetic mouse models and 3D-endometrial organoid cultures, it is our goal to determine the growth factors that control endometrial cell renewal and differentiation. We also conduct collaborative projects with the Center for Drug Discovery at BCM which aim to develop novel therapies for the treatment of endometriosis and endometrial cancer.
