Professional Statement

Christine Yin, M.D. is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. She is an assistant professor in the Departments of Surgery and Orthopedics, with clinical interests in upper extremity trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction, and the surgical treatment of osteoarthritis. She is also active in training future leaders of hand surgery, and currently serves as the site director at Ben Taub General Hospital and clinical coordinator of surgical education for the Orthopedic Hand & Upper Extremity fellowship at ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine.

Dr. Yin received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She served in the United States Peace Corps in Cambodia before completing her medical degree at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. She completed her residency in integrated plastic surgery at the Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University program, followed by a fellowship in hand & upper extremity surgery at ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine.

Dr. Yin understands the importance of both form and function, especially with regards to the upper extremity. She uses state-of-the-art techniques and an individualized treatment plan to best help patients regain pain-free mobility of their hand and wrist. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, strength training, and trying new restaurants.
