Professional Statement
Dr. Basant Arya is a cardiology physician-educator at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine. He has been in practice at Baylor for more than 15 years. Within the field of cardiology, he specializes in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and preventative cardiology. He sees patients at the McNair campus and at Baylor St Luke's Hospital.
In addition to his busy clinical practice, he is also actively involved in education of medical students, residents, cardiology fellows and other physicians. For his role as an educator, he has been awarded the Norton Rose Fulbright Faculty Excellence award as well as the Nasser Lakkis Excellence in Teaching award.
Dr. Arya has served as faculty at the American Society of Echocardiography, delivering lectures annually at the Scientific Sessions from 2016 to present. He has also co-authored book chapters on various aspects of the echocardiographic evaluation of the heart.
