Professional Statement
I am currently a third year PhD candidate in the Immunology and Microbiology PhD program (IY). I am a member of the lab of Dr. Pedro (Tony) Piedra where our primary focus is using airway organoids to understand respiratory virus pathogenesis. My research is focused on investigating the airway-gut axis of respiratory viruses and defining new mechanisms of Respiratory Syncytial Virus pathogenesis. My research interests include organoid model systems, vaccine development, and viral pathogenesis. Additionally, I am the vice president of Graduate Student Council and the President for Christians in Scientific Research (CriScR).
