Professional Statement

Anvinh Nguyen, M.D. is a triple board-certified physician in anesthesiology, adult cardiac anesthesiology, and advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, based in Houston, Texas. He also holds a certificate in Diagnostic Point-of-Care Ultrasound from the American Society of Anesthesiologists, where he currently serves as a local mentor.

Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in the Houston area. He graduated valedictorian of Taylor High School and attended college at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with highest honors. Dr. Nguyen then attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his residency in anesthesiology at ��Ƶ of Medicine where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the Texas Heart Institute.

He is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Nguyen’s academic, clinical, and research interest include cardiothoracic anesthesiology, structural heart interventions, transesophageal echocardiography, diagnostic point-of-care ultrasonography, neuro-anesthesia, acute pain management, residency education, quality improvement, patient safety, and trauma anesthesiology.
