Professional Statement
I utilize functional genomics approaches to understanding vector-pathogen interactions to further our understanding of vector arthropods and the pathogens they transmit. I also investigate arthropod taxonomy through new strategies I have developed for rapid, cost-effective mitogenome sequencing of arthropods in resource/infrastructure limited scenarios (i.e. developing countries and in the field) using nanopore sequencing technologies.
