Professional Statement

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and the Technical Core Director of the Metabolomics Core within the Advanced Technology Core at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ of Medicine (BCM). In this role, I oversee core operations, lead the development of advanced analytical methodologies, optimize existing workflows, and work closely with the Academic Director, Dr. Putluri, to drive the core’s research and strategic vision.

My academic career is grounded in biological mass spectrometry and its applications in metabolomics and proteomics. My research portfolio centers on innovative method development in cancer metabolism, with particular emphasis on elucidating the metabolic effects of carcinogen exposure in bladder cancer. Beyond my research, I provide comprehensive consultation services in experimental design, data interpretation, manuscript development, and grant preparation, supporting investigators across multiple departments and collaborative institutions.

These efforts have strengthened my leadership capabilities and contributed to a rigorous and collaborative research environment within the core. As I continue to broaden my expertise, I remain committed to fostering interdisciplinary partnerships both within BCM and externally. My overarching goal is to advance state-of-the-art metabolomics and lipidomics methodologies to enable rapid, high-resolution data generation and deepen our understanding of cancer biology. Ultimately, my work aims to identify metabolic biomarkers and define critical metabolic pathways that may inform future diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
