Off-Campus Access
Some online items (MDConsult, UpToDate) can be accessed through the Baylor Virtual Private Network (VPN). Directions for setting up a VPN connection are located on the .
A VPN connection provides off-campus access to BCM's subscriptions such as UpToDate.
Description: ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine’s VPN solution allows employees/students who are connected to the Internet through their own private connection (DSL, cable modem, AT&T U-verse, etc.) to access BCM computing resources as if they were physically connected to Baylor’s network.
Availability: In order to use a VPN connection, you will be required to install and configure the VPN software on the computer that you will use to remotely connect to the Baylor network. BCM Office of Information Technology provides the client and the instructions to download and install it.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Six-digit token created by Google Authenticator for BCM authentication.

Miscellaneous Computing
BCM has two WiFi channels:
- BCM Guest - must accept the user policy before gaining access. Not all resources are accessible while connected to Guest.
- BCM Wifi - must use your BCM username and password for access to all resources.

Log on the ASC distributed computers with your Enterprise Computing Account (ECA) ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine E-mail user name and password. This is issued to you when you arrive on campus.
An Enterprise Computing Account (ECA) is the basic account issued to all ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine faculty, staff, and students, as well as other people associated with ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine under special circumstances. This account is primarily used for checking email, dialing directly into ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ of Medicine's network, or accessing some of the enterprise resources that require user authentication.
If you can not logon to the computer with your ECA account, check to make sure that you are logging in correctly (make sure that the CAPS LOCK key is not turned on – passwords are generally case sensitive). Ed-Tech provides limited hardware and software support for SHP, SOM, and GSBS students. Ed-Tech will configure wireless settings on a student’s laptop, so they may connect to Baylor’s wireless network. Ed-Tech will also help students download and install BCM provided software such as O365 and Cisco VPN. Ed-Tech does not provide hardware or software support other than the above mentioned.
