Members of the section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism are successful researchers funded by grants from multiple federal and private agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Veterans Administration.
There are four major focus areas among our investigators:
- Human research in diabetes, metabolism and nutrition
- Pathobiology and pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications
- Lipid, glucose and energy homeostasis at the molecular level
- Molecular endocrinology - nuclear receptors and co-regulators
